BOOKPEOPLE LITERARY CAMPS TO HOST STAR WARS THE CLONE WARS WEEKEND CAMP
BookPeople Literary Camps is proud to announce its first ever Star Wars: The Clone Wars Jedi Training Camp. This weekend Camp will be held at McKinney State Falls Park on President's Day Weekend, February 18-20, 2012. This Lucas Film approved production will open registration on Saturday, December 3rd, 9am.
BookPeople Literary Camps is famous nationwide for its week-long summer camps, Camp Half-Blood and Ranger's Apprentice Camp, as well as its weekend camps, all of which work passionately to bring books to life for young readers. Now, BookPeople Literary Camps bring Austin the most far out journey into books yet with Star Wars: The Clone Wars Jedi Training Weekend Camp.
For three days, camper's ages 9-16 will train in the ways of the Force at the new Outer-Rim Training Facility, where they will be versed in use of the Force, light saber training, and Jedi knowledge. Part of this training will include the apprehension of the nefarious bounty hunter, Rom Theen, as part of the weekend-long story line which the campers will adventure through. Campers will also be challenged with battlefield strategies, play table-top games with Star Wars Miniatures to test their ability to work as a team, create Star Wars-inspired arts & crafts, compose the latest Star Wars hymn with the Camp's Song Master, and much more. All weekend long, campers will be invited to the Jedi Lore Master's area to record their experience for future Jedi Initiates, and at the end of camp, campers will install their data files in the Jedi Holocron.
Camp Director Topher Bradfield has worked with Lucas Films and Penguin Publishers to craft a storyline for a real life adventure into Star Wars: The Clone Wars which will include professional actors, costumes, and professional grade light sabers which campers will be able to purchase.
Spots are limited. The cost of the camp is $375. Registration will open at BookPeople on Saturday, December 3rd at 9am. Line-up will open that morning at 8am at BookPeople. Completed registration packets are required in order to register and can be downloaded from http://starwarscamp.wordpress.com/.
